A Prayer for China by Pastor Wang “Joshua” Dao

Pastor Wang was the pastor of Liangren Church in Guanzhou, China.  At the Night of Prayer for the Persecuted Church he described how the government shut down two kindergartens and arrested 4 employees for using textbooks his church published because they contained Biblical principles.  Below is a prayer which Pastor Wang wrote for China.

“My eyes fail from weeping, I am in torment within, my heart is poured out on the ground because my people are destroyed, because children and infants faint in the streets of the city.” -Lamentations‬ ‭2‬:‭11

As in Lamentations, we should shed tears for our country and our people should pray: Lord, China today has wolves in power, the churches are demolished, the cross is destroyed, God’s servants are behind bars, and Sunday worship is suspended.  China’s churches have reached the most difficult times. Lord God, you see everything, you know everything, you have mercy.  We implore you to help your church, your servant in battle. We ask that you break all of Pharaoh’s chains and shackles and let your people go to freely worship the Lord our God!  May the cross be raised like the bamboo shoots spring up after the rain.  Let the sounds of praise and worship to God flow in the wind of Tiananmen Square!  Let the living water of life flow throughout and heal China. May God turn China around, get hold of China, use China! In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

耶利米哀歌二11“ 我眼中流泪,以致失明,我的心肠扰乱,肝胆涂地,都因我众民遭毁灭,又因孩童和吃奶的在城内街上发昏。”
